The 1mL Unitract Safe Syringe™ offers the latest in safety engineered syringe technology. It has been designed for harm reduction markets where there is a high risk of the transmission of blood-borne diseases through the reuse of non-sterile equipment, and to alleviate the threat of needlestick injury.
While maintaining a similar look and feel to a conventional syringe, the Unitract Safe Syringe features reliable Automatic needle retraction and the ability for the user to control the rate at which needle retraction occurs. The benefit of automatic retraction is a syringe that reduces the risk of needlestick injury, and alleviates the fear of exposure to such injuries.
User-Controlled needle retraction distinguishes the Unitract Safe Syringe from other retractable syringes. This feature allows the needle to be retracted directly from the body, into the barrel, without causing increased patient discomfort, tissue damage or blood splatter.
The Unitract Safe Syringe also features an independent Reuse Prevention Feature which helps to reduce the injection-associated transmission of blood-borne viruses. The reuse prevention feature is initiated as the injection stroke begins, so that the syringe cannot be reused. To ensure the product is fully Tamper-Proof, the needle is also automatically lockeed inside the barrel, and tilted to one side, after use to prevent re-exposure.
